Built from the Factory Floor Up
Muhammad Imran founded Moon Wood in 2012 after spending years working inside the Indonesian furniture manufacturing industry. His background was in production understanding wood species, manufacturing processes, and what consistent quality actually requires at scale.
He saw a problem that kept coming up: international buyers wanted to source directly from Indonesian manufacturers but kept running into suppliers who were either too small to handle volume, too reliant on middlemen to offer competitive pricing, or too disorganized on the export side to be reliable long-term partners.
Moon Wood was built to be none of those things. Starting with a focused production facility and a core team of experienced woodworkers, Muhammad grew the operation over 12 years into a large-scale facility with 30+ skilled employees, shipping 50+ containers annually to buyers across 30+ countries including the US, UAE, Malaysia, Maldives, India, France, Morocco, and South Korea.
Moon Wood is a family-owned business. Muhammad's son Mamoon Imran joined as Co-Founder, bringing the same hands-on approach to the operation that the business was built on. That family ownership is reflected in how the business runs long-term thinking, direct relationships with buyers, and accountability that doesn't get diluted through corporate layers.
