Moon Wood manufactures all furniture from our production facility in Jepara, Indonesia one of the world's most established furniture manufacturing regions. Completed orders are transported to Semarang Port for export, with full documentation, customs, packing, and freight coordination handled in-house. Whether you arrange your own shipping or use our logistics partners, we make sure your order leaves Indonesia correctly packed, fully documented, and on schedule. 

1. Shipping Terms

Moon Wood's standard shipping term is FOB (Free On Board). We also offer the following Incoterms upon request:

  • EXW — Ex Works
  • CFR — Cost and Freight
  • CIF — Cost, Insurance and Freight

The applicable Incoterm will be mutually agreed upon and clearly stated in your Quotation and Proforma Invoice. If you are unsure which shipping term is most suitable for your order, contact us and we will advise based on your destination and requirements.

2. Port of Shipment

All Moon Wood furniture is manufactured at our facility in Jepara, Indonesia. Completed orders are shipped from:

Semarang Port, Indonesia

If your freight forwarder requires specific port information or pre-shipment arrangements, contact us and we will coordinate accordingly.

3. Container Options

Moon Wood ships in both 20-foot and 40-foot containers. Mixed items are accepted within a single container; you are not required to fill a container with a single product line.

Container size and loading details will be confirmed based on your order volume and product specifications.

4. Packaging

All products are packed to export standard to ensure safe transportation. Depending on the product type, packaging may include:

  • Foam protection
  • Corrugated cardboard
  • Bubble wrap
  • Corner protectors
  • Plastic wrapping
  • Sturdy cartons or wooden crates where required

Containers are professionally loaded and secured to minimize movement and prevent damage during transit. Standard packaging is included in the quoted price no separate packing charge applies unless special or additional packaging is requested.

5. Production Lead Times

Our standard production lead time is approximately 8 to 10 weeks from order confirmation and receipt of the required deposit.

Lead times may vary depending on:

  • Order quantity
  • Product type and complexity
  • Level of customization
  • Current production capacity

Larger or highly customized orders may require additional production time beyond the standard lead time. The confirmed production schedule will be provided when your order is accepted.

Once production is complete and final payment is received, shipment is typically dispatched within 5 to 7 business days. Transit times vary depending on the destination port your freight forwarder or Moon Wood's logistics partners can provide estimated transit times based on your destination.

6. Export Documentation

Moon Wood provides all standard export documentation required for international shipments. This includes:

  • Commercial Invoice
  • Packing List
  • Bill of Lading (B/L)
  • Certificate of Origin (where applicable or requested)

Additional export documents may be provided upon request, subject to the destination country's requirements and any applicable fees. All export documentation is prepared in accordance with Indonesian customs regulations.

7. HS Codes & Export Customs

Moon Wood provides accurate HS codes for all products based on Indonesian export classifications. Correct HS code documentation reduces the risk of customs delays and clearance issues at the destination port.

All required export customs documentation is prepared in accordance with Indonesian customs regulations and provided alongside your shipment.

The Buyer is responsible for import customs clearance, duties, taxes, and compliance with the regulations of the destination country. For more information on import responsibilities see our Terms & Conditions.

8. Fumigation

If required by the destination country's import regulations, Moon Wood can arrange fumigation and provide the relevant fumigation certificate. Any applicable fumigation costs will be included in the quotation or charged separately as agreed with the Buyer.

If your destination country requires fumigation, please inform us at the time of inquiry so we can factor this into your quotation and production schedule.

9. Freight Arrangement

Buyers may arrange their own freight forwarder or Moon Wood can arrange international shipping through our trusted logistics partners. Both options are available and the preferred arrangement will be confirmed and specified in your Quotation or Proforma Invoice.

If you are using your own freight forwarder, Moon Wood will coordinate directly with them to provide all necessary shipping information, packing details, and export documentation. We are experienced working with international freight forwarders across all major shipping routes.

10. Cargo Insurance

Cargo insurance responsibility depends on the agreed Incoterms:

  • FOB & CFR terms — cargo insurance is the Buyer's responsibility
  • CIF terms — Moon Wood will arrange the minimum cargo insurance required for the shipment

We strongly recommend that all Buyers arrange adequate cargo insurance regardless of the agreed Incoterms to protect against transit risks.

11. Risk & Liability

Under FOB terms, risk of loss or damage transfers to the Buyer once the goods are loaded onto the vessel at the port of shipment. Any claims for transit damage under FOB terms must be directed to the shipping line or cargo insurance provider.
